The Tierschutzliga-Dorf - How it all started!
The dream came true in February 1995 when a former army base near the area of Spremberg in Brandenburg was up for sale. In the future the old buildings would serve a wonderful purpose, as a shelter and sanctuary for homeless animals. Today the home of the Tierschutzliga-Dorf is 110,000 square meters!
Five buildings were rebuilt to host cats, dogs and smaller animals. Next to the animals rooms two flats were made ready as accommodation for employees in addition to an office.
