Tierschutzliga-Dorf - a Dream
For many years it was not only a dream of the animal protection organisation of the"Tierschutzliga"to have its own Animal Shelter but at the same time to have a place that would serve as a Sanctuary. Animals who could not be adopted, and for which no new homes could be found, would find a sanctuary and get a second chance at the Tierschutzliga-Dorf. In the past more and more unadoptable animals have placed a strain on the capacity of the shelters; dogs and cats which were shy, showed behavioural problems or were simply too old for anyone to offer them a new home! You can imagine that a life in kennel or in a small cage is not a decent life!
There was a great need for a large area where the welfare and care of animals could be guaranteed.
