OUR SHELTER "DOG-WALKING" EVENTS 2011
On 6th March 2011, in wonderful sunshine and beautiful clear blue skies, a total of 23 two-legged and 20 four-legged friends took part in the first ever dog walking event!
Since this was the first event of this kind we were excited to see if all the dogs, all from our Shelter, would get along and how they would enjoy the extended walk. We started through the forrest in the direction of Groß Döbbern and returned over the fields back to the Shelter. The dogs who started off be pulling the lead out of sheer excitement calmed down along the way and all walked very nicely next to each other. After an almost two hours long walk we all made it back to the Tierschutzligadorf. The dogs were by then looking forward to a rest in their soft beds or favorite sofa and the two-legged participants could look forward to a well-earned cup of coffee.
All in all a great success for everyone and especially for our dogs who could enjoy a little change to their everyday life at the Shelter! We hope to repeat this event on a regular basis.
Many many thanks to all who came along, making it possible for our dogs to have a special experience. And of course also a big thank you for the delicious cakes which were served on a beautifully decorated table. A feast for all tired and happy ’’Dog-Walkers’’.
