In Memory of

We always wonder why so many animals, especially dogs, struggle to find new homes! Many of them live more than half their lives at the Shelter without the chance of finding a new loving permanent home. Many of them suffered abuse in the past and didn't experience love and care until they came to the Tierschutzliga Dorf where our carers and volunteers work tirelessly to show them that there are good caring people in the world too!

It is especially hard when it is time to say good bye to these animals that have been with us for a long time at the Tierschutzliga Dorf. This was their home and we were their family. We loved every single one of them and they loved us back!

This page is in memory of the animals we had the pleasure to know, love and care for, after a final good bye they have now moved on, but will always stay in our hearts.

02.06.2010:    Rex

Während der Webmaster noch dabei war, die Bilder und die Beschreibung von Rex aufzubereiten und hochzuladen, geschah im Tierschutzliga-Dorf trauriges:

Heute früh (01.06.2010) fanden wir Schäferhund Rex bewegungsunfähig in seinem Zimmer vor. Wir brachten ihn sofort in die Tierklinik, wo keine Ursache für seine Bewegungsunfähigkeit festgestellt werden konnte. Rex konnte nicht einmal mehr seinen Kopf heben. Von Stunde zu Stunde verschlechterte sich sein Zustand trotz intensiver Behandlung. Am Abend sollte er zur Computertomografie, doch Rex hörte am Nachmittag einfach auf zu Atmen. Er verstarb in der Tierklinik und keiner weiß, was die Ursache war.

Wir sind fassungslos, war Rex doch bis gestern abend noch vollkommen agil und fröhlich und spielte mit seiner Kumpeline Zara. Nichts deutete auf eine Krankheit hin.
