In Memory of

We always wonder why so many animals, especially dogs, struggle to find new homes! Many of them live more than half their lives at the Shelter without the chance of finding a new loving permanent home. Many of them suffered abuse in the past and didn't experience love and care until they came to the Tierschutzliga Dorf where our carers and volunteers work tirelessly to show them that there are good caring people in the world too!

It is especially hard when it is time to say good bye to these animals that have been with us for a long time at the Tierschutzliga Dorf. This was their home and we were their family. We loved every single one of them and they loved us back!

This page is in memory of the animals we had the pleasure to know, love and care for, after a final good bye they have now moved on, but will always stay in our hearts.

Der Tod ist das Tor zum Licht,
am Ende eines mühsam gewordenen Lebens.

Für Blacky war es Zeit zu gehen. Seine Knochen steif von Arthrosen, sein Blick blind, jeder Schritt fiel ihm schwer. Alle Schmerzmittel halfen ihm nicht mehr. Zum ersten Mal in Blacky’s Leben durften wir ihn berühren, ohne dass die Angst ihn durchfuhr. Blacky wusste, dass es ihm nun wieder gut gehen wird. Als seine Hundefreunde anfingen zu heulen, schlief unser Blacky friedlich für immer ein.

12 Jahre lebte Blacky bei uns. Er war ein wilder Hund, der niemals Zutrauen zu uns Menschen fasste. Sein bester Freund und ständiger Wegbegleiter Schlappohr muss nun ohne ihn klar kommen. Wir hoffen er schafft es.

Blacky, nun kannst Du wieder mit Grizzly, Hanka und Moritz um die Wette laufen.
