Our "special" animals

An Animal Shelter serves many purposes; it takes receipt of unwanted animals, it cares for them and re-homes them into loving families who can provide the right conditions according to the animal's needs and requirements! But unfortunately this isn't always possible if an animal is very old, in need of constant medical care or has been the subject of abuse and violence at the hand of its former owner leaving it fearful and showing behavioural problems. These animals are in this situation through of no fault of their own and we see it as our task to provide the best possible environment and care for them for the rest of their natural lives.

Providing for these animals here at the Tierschutzliga-Dorf comes with enormous costs and therefore we are looking for kind people who are willing to sponsor a dog or a cat and help us meet some of our costs by making a contribution. Meet our "special" animals here

A sponsorship is a good compromise for people who love animals but who do not have the possibility to keep a pet at home, but this way they can help care for an animal and make a financial contribution to its welfare. Sponsorship contributions are spent on food and meeting medical expenses. Anyone who has time and interest is of course always welcome to come and visit the special sponsored dog or cat, give it some good cuddles and play with it, which dog would not love to be taken for a walk by its special human? Of course animals who are in the shelter for a very long time need an extra portion of love and attention and we are always grateful when we find a special person who would like to take care of a special animal.

If you have made a decision to sponsor one of our special sponsor animals then please kindly fill out the attached sponsorship form and send it to us. In return you will receive a Sponsorship Contract per postal service, information about your chosen animal and many wonderful photos. Throughout the year you will of course receive further information, new photos and continuous updates.

A Sponsorship can be made by anyone who is at least 18 years of age or with parental or guardian consent. The sponsorship fee can be paid monthly, bi-yearly or yearly and you decide how much money you would like to sponsor for your animal, although a minimum amount of EUR 5,- a month applies. If case your chosen animal should have the luck to find a new home or sadly pass away you will of course receive information to that effect.

Every sponsorship and/or donation helps us care for the many animals and we are thankful for every amount, big or small, either on a regular basis or as a one off gesture.Please kindly make a transfer to our account at the
