Xmas initiative 2011: A Christmas stocking for a furry friend - feedback

In 2011 we again have launched the initiative "A Christmas stocking for a furry friend - feedback".

Tierschutzligadorf on RBB-TV

Once again we have had the pleasure of welcoming the RBB-Tiervermittlungsteam and Mr. Attila Weidemann here at the Tierschutzliga-Dorf.

Tune in on the RBB programme "zibb" on Tuesday, 15.11.2011 at 18.30, and meet some of our four-legged friends on TV. On Wednesday, 16.11.2011, at 16.50 the programme "kurz vor 5 - TIER ZULIEBE" will only present animals from the Tierschutzligadorf.

You will not only meet the beautiful Dalmatian, Charly, but also wonderful and sweet little Lucy, Kasimir the Cat and our cute puppies from the recent confiscation. Of course this is not all, also other of our wonderful animals will be there, on best behaviour of course! Please tune in and tell your friends and family. DON'T MISS IT.......

36 at a single blow!

After a confiscation of a total of 85 dogs we have committed to take 36 of the poor dogs into our care, incl. two female dogs with puppies. The remaining dogs have thankfully found a temporary home in our other shelters.

The group of dogs are a mix of different breeds incl. 20 Hovawarths in all ages as well as Möpse, Jack Russels, Lhasa Apsos, Shi Tzus, Tibet Terriers and some mixed breeds. There are also some female dogs still expecting.

We have converted our Kitten-Station into a dog station as there was no other possibility to place them otherwise. It will be take weeks before all has been checked and the dogs can be put up for adoption.

Now we urgently need canned dog food for puppies and, of course, any donation to help us to paying the vet vosts for all this dogs.

Open Door Event

On Saturday, 8th Mai 2010, we were pleased to invite our two-legged and four-legged friends to enjoy a wonderful day with us during our Open Door Event. If you could not make it then please have a look at the great events which took place (Report and Pictures).

"Leichhardt Students 2010 donate 500€ to the Tierschutzliga"

On Friday 04.03.2011 the Tierschutzligadorf received a donation from the students of the Ludwig-Leichhardt College in Cottbus.

The big moment for the many students was getting the final certificate and celebrating the hard work with a college party. More than 700 students took part in the celebrations and as the costs of the event could easily be covered an amount of almost 500€ was still available.

After long discussions, and democratic voting, the students decided to spend the remaining funds on a charitable purpose. „We decided in the end that a donation should be made to the Tierschutzliga-Dorf as we wanted to funds to do good in the area. The idea to benefit the animals of the Tierschutzliga immediately appealed to all“ says Maren Heilmeyer, the President of the Student Committee 2010. (Text/Picture:: Lisa König)

"OUR FIRST SHELTER "DOG-WALKING" EVENT"

On 6th March 2011 our first dog walking event took place. 23 two-legged and 20 four-legged friends took part - it was just wonderful for dogs and humans! See report and pictures

Meet the Tierschutzliga-Dorf at the Cottbus 2009 Spring Fair

After many busy weeks of preparation it was time to present our projects and some of our Shelter animals to the public at the Cottbus 2009 Spring Fair.

Our great efforts were not in vain and our stand was met with much interest and curiosity from the public.

The Tierschutzligadorf presented itself as the young, modern, friendly and open Animal Shelter; it is……always there to help animals in need.

A visit from the RBB-TV at the Tierschutzligadorf

On 18 February 2009 the RBB TV program "Kurz vor Fünf", hosted by Mr Attila Weidemann, came for a visit to the Tierschutzligadorf and we had the pleasure of introducing some of our lovely animals. Many got the chance to be film stars for the day..

Our "Special Needs Dog" Ken has had a special great scene. He was allowed to present the weather report together with Attila Weidemann on 10. February 2009. As you can see, Ken is a real TV-Star!

We would like to thank the film crew from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful pictures of some of our very special Shelter animals and we hope to see you again soon.

Tierheimfest 2006

Due to the great response after our first Tierschutzligadorf Fest in 2004 the TIERSCHUTZLIGA IN DEUTSCHLAND e.V. was delighted to invite you to the second Tierschutzligadorf Fest on 9 September 2006 held at our premises.

The Fest was another great success with the wonderful result that many animals found new loving homes.
